For more than 65 years N.O.R.S.T. Troopers in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Connecticut and other states have contributed valuable goodwill and remarkable service to their communities and we endeavor to feature their community engagement from time to time as our research continues.

N.O.R.S.T. volunteers previously conducted recruit orientation seminars for potential Maryland State Police applicants in cooperation with the Maryland State Police Recruitment Division. Our work created a model template for mentoring members of the general public in preparing for a law enforcement career.
N.O.R.S.T. retired volunteer members participated in a first of its kind, Mutual Letter statement of Agreement with the Maryland State Police to mentor prospective state police recruit candidates relating to the Maryland State Police fulfillment of its Recruiting Plan of Action and consistent with N.O.R.S.T.'s mission to promote positive police community relations by educating law enforcement officers, communities and the public.

Detective Fred Abrams (Ret.), Connecticut State Police with a Certificate of Congratulations for Thirty (30) Years of Service Excellence as a road trooper detective, crime lab investigator and demonstrating lifetime leadership to improve office training, recruitment and community relations.

Charles Patterson, (Ret.), Mississippi Highway Patrol with a Certificate of Appreciation for his dedicated service to the men and women of N.O.R.S.T from March 2008-August 27, 2015 and leadership in preserving N.O.R.S.T. mission for retired law enforcement professionals.
