THE BENEFITS OF Membership

Joining the National Organization of Retired State Troopers, Inc. will help educate law enforcement officers and the public about the historical and pioneering professional service accomplishments of African American, female, and minority law enforcement officers in the U.S.  

For example, many of the original State Troopers, who formed this organization, broke down an array of long-standing racial and gender barriers in their respective state law enforcement agencies. 

Often, they were the first African Americans hired as State Troopers by their agencies. They excelled and upon retiring they were honored as the "first African Americans Troopers" to attain command and executive-level ranks within their agencies. 

Nationally, many unidentified Troopers have been instrumental in breaking down challenges and racial barriers in state law enforcement agencies. 

Since 2020, the National Organization of Retired State Troopers, Inc. has conducted comprehensive historical cultural research using a team of experienced retired members with over 89 years of combined law enforcement and leadership experience. 

Our research team has participated in diverse member interviews and initiated sociological evidence-based surveys to identify those retired troopers whose important stories are waiting to be told and shared to help increase membership in  the National Organization of Retired State Troopers, Inc. and benefit communities, families, and law enforcement agencies.

• Joining the National Organization of Retired State Troopers, Inc. (hereinafter "N.O.R.S. T.") allows retired State Troopers to vividly share untold and factually signifiant stories about their law enforcement journey with other retirees and future potential state trooper candidates.  

• Joining as a member contributes to preserving our enduring authoritative social educational resources for individuals, agencies and the public, and fosters future enriching mentoring opportunities and frameworks for persons interested in becoming State Troopers, or pursuing other law enforcement officer careers.
